Bali Cremation Photos

You can get a sense of the progression of the cremation ceremony in these pictures and the celebratory nature of it. I watched the peanut seller go back and forth and he did sell almost all of his load by then end. You can also see one picture where a member of the royal family has her hand on her helpers elbow to move her arm. She wants to be sure the fan shades her! The lighting of the dragon and bull were done simply - with matches. A metal box was constructed under the bull's belly so that the body would fall into there and the ashes could be saved. Also, in on of the fire pictures you can see the king's legs. I won't tell you which one, but this might be the same as saying, "don't look down." A bit gruesome.

I also included pictures of my friends from Taco Casa - highly recommend their food if you're in Ubud.

Another time I'll upload some canal tour photos from Kalimantan.
